Prep:

Wheat porridge is a simple introduction. Try milled products like baby cereal, cream of wheat, or homemade porridge with spices.

Cut:

Soft porridge or strips of wheat bread or pancake the width of two adult fingers.

9-12 months

Prep:

Continue with wheat porridges and pancakes. Mix cooked wheat berries into meatballs and patties cut into bite-sized pieces.

Cut:

Bite-sized pieces. Whole wheat berries can be served alongside soft scoopables.

12-18 months

Prep:

Serve cooked wheat berries on their own or in grain salads, porridges, and stews. Use wheat flour in baked goods and offer with utensils.

Cut:

Whole grains, breads, or stews. Utensil practice encouraged.
