6-9 months

Prep:

Offer fresh, pasteurized mozzarella (sold packaged in water or whey) in wide, flat slices to hold and munch. It can also be shredded and melted sparingly on baby's foods.

9-12 months

Prep:

Serve fresh, pasteurized mozzarella in flat bite-sized pieces from a thin slice for pincer practice, long thin strips for taking bites, or shredded sparingly. Avoid melted globs.

12-18 months

Prep:

Offer flat bite-sized pieces of pasteurized mozzarella from a thin slice, shredded, or large flat slices. Melted in a thin layer is fine. Avoid large globs.
