Olive oil

Usually introduced around 6 months

How to serve by age

6-9 months

Prep:

Use olive oil generously in cooking and drizzle on fish, meat, grains, or vegetables. Fats provide an excellent energy source for growing babies.

Cut:

Drizzled or used in cooking. No cut needed.

9-12 months

Prep:

Pour a small amount of olive oil directly on baby's plate so they can taste it on its own, alongside other foods.

Cut:

Drizzled directly on tray or food.

12-18 months

Prep:

Cook with olive oil and use in marinades, meals, and sauces. This is also a great age to introduce it as a dipping sauce with bread.

Cut:

Used in cooking or dipping with bread.
