6-9 months

Prep:

Offer pureed cooked chicken liver or pâté on a pre-loaded spoon or spread on toast strips. Limit to a couple of tablespoons once or twice a week for vitamin A.

Cut:

Pureed or pâté on spoon or toast. Limit twice weekly for vitamin A.

9-12 months

Prep:

Serve thin slices or bite-sized pieces of cooked chicken liver as finger food, or continue with pâté on toast. Add family spices to the pâté.

Thin slices or bite-sized pieces; pâté on toast.

12-18 months

Prep:

Offer thin slices or bite-sized pieces as finger food, or continue with pâté on toast or rice cakes. Same vitamin A limit applies: a couple tablespoons twice weekly.

Cut:

Thin slices, bite-sized pieces, or pâté on toast.
