Popcorn

Usually introduced around 24 months

High choking risk

How to serve by age

2 years and up

Prep:

Some toddlers may be ready to learn how to eat single pieces of plain popcorn under close supervision. Treat it as a coached learning session, not a regular snack.

Cut:

Remove all unpopped or partially popped kernels and any stale pieces. Offer one piece at a time. Skip seasonings, which can be inhaled and trigger choking.
