How to serve by age

6-9 months

Prep:

Choose very ripe, soft fruit. Peel, remove all pits, and mash, or offer as a large flat slice.

Cut:

Mash, or a flat slice about the width of two adult fingers, with skin and pits removed.

9-12 months

Prep:

Peel and remove all pits. Offer small soft pieces as the pincer grasp develops.

Cut:

Soft bite-sized pieces, skin and pits removed.

12-18 months

Prep:

Peel and pit. Serve in toddler-sized pieces for fork or finger practice.

Cut:

Quartered or bite-sized pieces, skin and pits removed.
