Offer thin slices or bite-sized pieces of grapefruit segments with membrane and seeds removed. The size helps refine the pincer grasp.

12-18 months

Prep:

Serve bite-sized pieces of grapefruit with membrane and seeds removed, paired with a fork to encourage utensil use.

Cut:

Bite-sized pieces, no membrane, no seeds.

2 years and up

Prep:

Offer thin slices or bite-sized pieces. Or serve a halved grapefruit, seeds removed and segments loosened, for the toddler to scoop from the peel.

Cut:
