How to serve by age

6-9 months

Prep:

Make a fully cooked omelet with no runny egg. Cut into rectangular strips for baby to grasp. Hand the strip in the air to encourage self-feeding.

Cut:

Rectangular strips of fully cooked omelet.

12-18 months

Prep:

Continue with omelet strips until pincer grasp is solid, then cut into bite-sized squares. Introduce hard-boiled duck egg quartered or thinly sliced.

Cut:

Bite-sized squares of omelet, or quartered hard-boiled.

2 years and up

Prep:

Many toddlers eat eggs confidently. If interest fades, try fun shapes with cookie cutters or muffin tins. Keep eggs fully cooked through this stage.

Cut:

Fully cooked eggs in any shape; experiment with presentation.
