How to serve by age

6-9 months

Prep:

Offer peeled, cooked celeriac wedges (about two adult fingers wide) for munching, or mashed for scooping. Raw grated also works mixed in yogurt.

Cut:

Peeled cooked wedges or mash; raw grated mixed in.

9-12 months

Prep:

Bite-sized peeled cooked celeriac for the pincer grasp, or grated raw in slaw, or paper-thin slices for biting practice.

Cut:

Cooked bite-sized; raw grated or paper-thin.

12-18 months

Prep:

Peeled celeriac as desired: mashed, roasted in wedges or bite pieces, raw grated, or paper-thin. Adult-finger-width raw strips if eating skills are confident.

Cut:

Cooked any form, or raw grated, paper-thin, or thin strips.
