Brazil nuts are extremely high in selenium, which is toxic in excess. Keep to about 1 teaspoon of butter or a pinch of ground nut at a time, not daily.
Whole nuts and globs of nut butter are a choking hazard. Never offer whole or chopped Brazil nuts to babies or toddlers. Use only smooth nut butter spread thin, or finely ground nut.
Stir up to 1 teaspoon of smooth Brazil nut butter into yogurt, warm cereal, or batter, or sprinkle a pinch of finely ground nut over food. Spread butter thin with no clumps.
