How to serve by age

6-9 months

Prep:

Mix well-done ground bison into mashed vegetables, porridge, or yogurt. Or prepare burgers or meatballs at least 2 inches wide, cooked to 160 F.

Cut:

Ground meat in soft food, or whole patty/meatball at least 5 cm wide.

9-12 months

Prep:

Break meatballs, burgers, or patties into bite-sized pieces for pincer practice. Move steaks down to finely chopped or shredded meat.

Cut:

Bite-sized pieces of patties; finely chopped or shredded steak.

12-18 months

Prep:

Serve shredded bison or thin strips cut into bite-sized pieces dipped in sauce. Avoid cubes due to choking risk. Bison sausage in moderation, cut lengthwise.

Cut:

Shredded or thin strips, no cubes. Sausage halved/quartered lengthwise.
