Introducing Soy to your baby
Around 6 months.
Soft tofu (silken or firm, mashed), edamame peeled and mashed, plain soy yogurt. Avoid whole edamame pods (choking).
Hives, vomiting, diarrhea, wheezing. Soy-protein intolerance can also cause delayed GI symptoms (similar to non-IgE milk allergy).
Mild: stop and call pediatrician. Moderate or severe: call emergency services.
2-3 times per week once tolerated.
