Introducing Fish to your baby
Around 6 months. Fish is brain-food: DHA supports development. Include 1-2 low-mercury species per week.
Cooked, flaked, bone-checked. Salmon, cod, haddock, sole, tilapia, sardines. Avoid high-mercury fish under 2 years: shark, swordfish, king mackerel, tilefish, big-eye tuna.
Hives, swelling, vomiting, wheezing within 2 hours.
Mild: stop and call pediatrician. Moderate or severe: call emergency services.
1-2 times per week once tolerated.
