Yogurt, Mango and Oatmeal

Yogurt, Mango and Oatmeal

From 6 months · 3 foods

Ingredients

How to prepare each food

Yogurt

Prep

Offer plain, full-fat, pasteurized yogurt on a spoon or preloaded for self-feeding. Skip sweetened or honey-containing varieties. You can stir in a little fruit purée for flavor, or swirl yogurt into other foods.

Cut

Spoonable. Serve on a spoon or preloaded; no cutting needed.

Mango

Prep

Choose a ripe, soft mango that gives when gently pressed. Peel it and remove the large flat pit, then mash the flesh smooth or offer a finger-length strip to hold and gum. Ripe mango squishes easily between two fingers.

Cut

Smooth mash, or a finger-length strip the baby can hold in a fist.

Note

The large flat pit and the slippery skin are not for babies. Always peel the mango and remove the pit before serving.

Oatmeal

Prep

Cook oats with plenty of liquid into a smooth, thick oatmeal. Use breast milk, formula, or water, and thin it as needed so it's easy to swallow. Iron-fortified baby oat cereal works well here too.

Cut

Smooth, thick oatmeal you can spoon-feed.

Putting it together

Prepare each ingredient using the age guidance above, then serve them together.
