Quinoa and Squash

Quinoa and Squash

From 6 months · 2 foods

Ingredients

How to prepare each food

Quinoa

Prep

Cook quinoa until soft and let it cool to warm. Serve it as a thick mash, or stir cooked quinoa into a vegetable or fruit purée so it holds together on a spoon. It mixes well with iron-rich foods.

Cut

Serve as a thick mash or blended into a purée. No cutting needed.

Squash

Prep

Peel and seed the squash, then steam, roast, or boil it until very soft and serve warm. Offer it as a finger-length spear the baby can hold with a bit sticking out of the fist, or mashed and smooth. Each piece should mash easily between two fingers.

Cut

Soft-cooked finger-length spears, or mashed smooth.

Putting it together

Prepare each ingredient using the age guidance above, then serve them together.
